A day off

It's been a busy week , not around the house though and I have so much to get done . I've been working afternoon shift all week and not getting home until 10.30 pm there isn't much baking going on or even de cluttering. I havnt been to the opp shop the weather is just to cold and rainy.
Today was my day off and I could of caught up on a bit housework and yard work but decided we needed to get away for the day .
So we hopped on the train at 8.30 this morning and just wandered the streets of Melbourne going no where in particular just walking where our feet took us. It was a lovely day , not weather wise but just a break from the ordinary.
Everyone is so busy rushing around there no one looks up to appreciate this beautiful architecture I think these buildings are amazing.
The gorgeous little arcades and shops are lovely,
Mexican for lunch , in this little area it's so multi cultural there is Indian, Vietnamese , Chinese, Japanese, Aussie bakery and Mexican
Oh how I love churro's
Mexican cola was delish , I never usually drink soft drink but today was a day to just do what ever.
A walk through china town we even visited the Chinese museum which was so interesting.
Also a comic book shop for a little somebody .

Even got a photo of my partner who allways shys from the camera .
Then back on the train home and back to getting on with all those jobs tommorow .

  1. It looks as though you had a good day out Sharon, my partner Michael is equally camera shy, every snap is a back view normally.

  2. I did this tour with my son a few years ago and took almost the exact same photo's. Down one of the cafe alleys i took a photo of the soup kitchen. I love soup and they had so many to choose from. Funny, when we stayed at Goldfields (which we have 3 times) we jumped on the train to Melbourne for the day also. You could have the opposite problem and my two take photos of themselves in weird and wacky poses. My Hubby has a little camera that plugs into PC and its on a tube and i get nasal hair shots. Too Much!!! I'd really have to look hard to find one that would be presentable for ID. Take time to rest or next you'll be working whilst ill.

I love all the little arcades and alleys in Melbourne they are much more interesting than the main streets, I havnt been to the soup kitchen. There are just so many hidden treasures down there.
