A healthy Alternative

At the moment Im looking at different recipes to make healthier choices when it comes to snacks.
Today I did my groceries and I was determined not to buy any bought biscuits or snacks well anything made in a process plant.
I usually bake a lot of things but did get a little slack before my holiday and also on my holiday I didnt really cook a thing.
I think shop bought biscuits have a artificial taste to them I would rather home cooking anyday.
So today I have made Anzac biscuits with a little difference.

 ANZAC BISCUIT RECIPE
3/4 CUP OF OATS
1/4 CUP ALL-BRAN
1/2 CUP WHOLEMEAL FLOUR
1/2 CUP PLAIN FLOUR
1/4 CUP OF NUTS
1/4 CUP OF PURA VEDA {WHICH IS A MIX OF ALL THINGS GOOD}
1/4 CUP OF BANANA CHIPS
1/3 CUP GOJI BERRIES DRIED
1 CUP CASTOR SUGAR
3/4 CUP COCONUT
125 GRAMS BUTTER
2 TABLESPOONS GOLDEN SYRUP
1/2 TEASP BICARB
2 TABLESPOON BOILING WATER

Combine oats all bran flours sugar coconut and nuts.
Combine butter and golden syrup in a pan and melt stir in combined water and bicarb
Stir into dry ingredients
Roll into balls and bake on oven trays cook in slow oven 150c for about 20 minutes

Makes a lovely container of yummy biscuits

Im also making my own muesli with oats, coconut, nuts, banana chips, goji berries, pure veda ,coconut oil and honey all baked in the oven.
Ready to top up some home made yogurt.

I wanted a quick and easy tea tonight so I had some frozen home made chicken and corn soup heated up.
Not a great photo but tasted divine.
A much more healthy alternative than take away or tin food.
When I did my shop today I did make a list but left it at home ugh dont you hate that.
I did pretty well and just tried to remember what I had on my menu plan.
Sometimes I stray a little and buy soft drink and corn chips and some biscuits but today I was super good.
Trying to keep things simple and homemade.

  2. Sharon, I try not to bake too much as I am too tempted then :-) When I do I try to make something with healthy ingredients as I have too much sugar in my diet as it is. Those Anzac biscuits look very yummy.
