It's freezing

It's certainly freezing at the moment in Ballarat. I don't want to venture out of the  house but unfortunately poor lasky as developed a serious limp so it was of to the vets first thing this morning. Home we went with pain killers & anti inflammatories & a appointment for Monday for X rays $$$$$$$$ oh my poor pocket . 

I have to keep her quiet & the only way to do that is keep her inside. 

So I've potted around the house taking photos of crystals 

Potted a few zebra plants up when I take lasky outside to relieve herself.

 Sat at my computer desk looking out the front window & the freezing cold day admiring all the bits & pieces in the garden .

I've noticed there is stories behind different plants . This geranium I scored at a church opp shop & the lilly above is from my Aunties garden.

This succulent I took from Mum & Dads house when it was sold. I'm not sure of the name I'm waiting to identify it . I think it's some type of aloe. 

It's a great day to be inside

I think I will have to ban myself from EBay.

I planted these straight into my succulent garden.

The ones below I have planted into pots

Pachyphytum Clavifolia

Sempervivum rasberryice 

Medusa 

Crassula Rupestris ssp marnieriana

I also finished the rose garden & planted a couple more. I bought this one as my Mum & Dad bought their first house on Windermere street.

 I planted this one because we always should be thankful .

 This one just because I love the colors 

& this one as I love the movie. 

& a pet picture of course. I was cleaning the windows from inside & couldn't resist a photo of Alaska and gizzy sitting right in front of her . They couldn't see me as I'm sure they would of moved . Alaska just loves the little dogs. 

Over due garden update

Although it's the middle of winter here & there isn't a lot happening in my garden. I'm hoping by spring there will be.

Always this time of year my daphne goes crazy . I love daphne the perfume reminds me of when I was a child as my Nan & Mum both grew this plant 

I can't wait until all the flowers open.

 On the weekend I planted a few bare rooted rose bushes 

As you can see I can't wait for all these to bloom . David Austin roses are my favorite 

There are only a few blooms in the garden at the moment I think these are jonquils ( correct me if I'm wrong ) 

Shabby looking abracadabra rose 

Vege garden is a little tragic but I have a couple of broad bean plants

Kale 

Mixed lettuce for my Thai beef salad 

This is supposed to be broccoli I have no idea what's happened . Any suggestions would be great 

 More kale . I'm going to make kale chips with this .

 I purchased a kaffir lime tree as I was always buying the leaves for my salad . 

Ok I had to throw in a succulent

They fit nicely into my cabinet.

Since it's so cold and dreary outside Im using color in my journal . I love these journals . I have kept a diary for years. 

There is always somthing to do

My new addiction

I've always liked succulents & cacti. I love all plants but I have a diverse range in my garden . I have one garden out the front solely of succulents . Just over the past few weeks. I have taken a lot more interest in the many different varieties & have become a little obsessed with my collection. 

 This is one side of the garden but I plan to fill it so you can't see the stones. 

This is the other side. It's a work in progress . 

My daughter said to me today " mum I have just looked through your eBay & all I can see is succulents " I feel like a naughty child . 

I would love a display like this.

I'm reading Frida Kahlo's garden at the moment . 

Amazing lady.

Anyway I'm off to attend to my succulents in the snow.

Oh did I mention it's snowing in beautiful Ballarat at the moment
