I hate to tell you all I do not follow the football at all, while the majority of Australians are watching the Grand Final, as usual my tv remains off.
After a bit of a difficult morning this morning with my son I banned the xbox the ipads and the tv.
The tv was allowed back on at 5 pm the rest stays away in my cupboard.
I must say the day has been heaven, we planted tomato seeds , If they all sprout I will have 80 plants.
The kids played games.
They baked
India wrote letters
Tyler made earrings [ I know unusual] I showed him how to make them and he made some lovely ones. With no help from me.
He wants this mess left there as he may do some more tommorow.
I forgot to say on Friday I called to the opp shop and found these vintage salt and pepper shakers the lady told me it holds boiled eggs. Quite cute for $3.50
I just love Beatrix Potter
Her illustrations are just beautiful
Hope everybody is enjoying their weekend xx
We don't follow AFL here either, we are however die-hard rugby union fans, so will watch games tonight and very early tmrw morning! Good on you for having a technology-free day! How productive! Oh and I love that egg tray - I want it! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Ailsa the egg tray is interesting isnt it . I dont think I have ever watched a game of rugby ever lol.
DeleteHa ha, we are so vague about footy that we organised a birthday party for our youngest in the middle of it without realising... ooops. There were some parents who were a bit dark about delivering children during the action..
ReplyDeleteI love how when you are a mean parent and turn off all the screens, the children suddenly become very creative. What an amazing array of activities they dipped into this afternoon.
Eek you guys would of been popular for the die hard footy fans. I certainly was deemed mean in the morning when I took everything. But they certainly were much more pleasant and creative in the afternoon.
DeleteHello, thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a lovely comment. We didn't watch the footy either. So many other more interesting things to do. It looks like your kids were very productive and creative today. Good for them.
ReplyDeleteAnne xx
Hi Anne, love your blog. I find there is just so many things to do I just cant sit still to watch the tv , I just dont get the term " Im bored" lol if I ever hear that my comment is I have a list of jobs then .xx
DeleteI think your children will have had a wonderful time if your photos are anything to go by. Its nice that they dont always need computers/x boxes etc and are capable of enjoying themselves without them.
ReplyDeleteI love Beatrix Potter too!!
Hi Anne, they had a great day, at first I got the "there is nothing to do" ugh so my reply was there is no tv tonight then if you dont find something creative. They quickly found something.
DeleteBeatrix Potter is simply my favorite x
Sharon, the green dish with salt and pepper shakers is to serve stuffed eggs, at one time they were a separate course at dinner parties! Rumour has it that they were often served in Buckingham Palace as Prince Phillip liked them.
ReplyDeleteHi Pam thank you, I had never seen one before, think I might use this on Christmas day I quite like stuffed eggs myself
DeleteI love the egg tray, perfect for deviled eggs! Your son is a talented jewelry maker/designer. xo
ReplyDeleteYes I cant wait to use it, I just saw the cute chickens and thought I would buy it then I realized what it was for. The jewelry making certainly kept him quiet for a while, xx
DeleteI can join the "i dont know anything about football (of either code)" brigade as well. I went to the Melbourne Show with another family. Sport doesnt feature high in our home unless it "how fast can i eat my dinner" kind of sport. Careful Sharon. Did you follow the rule, one thing brought in means something has to go out!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Lynda yes Im being a good girl you should see my garage its filling up , I cant wait to have my garage sale and get rid of all this stuff. x
