What Ive been doing

Well yes Im getting very slack with my blogging lately as I seem to be busy doing all sorts of things.
Garden wise ...... nothing its tragic
In a couple of weeks hopefully these will be finished and I can pull it all out and top up with mushroom compost and horse manure.
I have planted some broad beans in these boxes so hopefully they will shoot through soon, as Dad cant stop raving about last years broad beans he loves them.
Today is a beautiful day but I dont really have much time to get out and care for the garden I have to go to work boo hoo.
I bought a new dahlia as I love dahlias they are just magical. Its a slightly different color to the one I already have below. I seem to always be attracted to the color purple.

My hearty breakfast thanks to the girls there is nothing better than a gooey egg muffin.

Believe it or not Im still picking zucchinis Im running out of ideas but Im dammed if Im going to waste anything from my garden
I have just subscribed to this magazine its my new favorite
This is my reading material at work in my breaks , I can sit and relax in the quiet and refresh things in my mind. I really love reiki at the moment, I have had some moments with my son and I must say this has helped in more ways than one. He loves it, I love that he loves it and it calms him down.
I was going to settle on doing level 3 but Im thinking I might even go further now.
This has been such a busy couple of weeks, between work and keeping up with my little business selling recycled clothing, I have to make time to opp shop and photograph clothing then list them, this is my listing pile for this week.
I didnt get time at all last week as my week was full with work then a meeting all day with work which was quite interesting from a sales point of view , I havnt been to a meeting in quite some time but I made a big effort to go since they paid me overtime and all.....
I dont know what it is but chooks fluffy bums are so cute I cant resist a photo
My poor little ginger gets a bit picked on so she is out for a free range on her own.
 Girls loving their greens
 Another bottom picture
This poor girl I dont know what happened to her but I assume its the rooster having his wicked way as all her tail feathers have been plucked. She looks tragic.
The girls are off the lay so it could be molt. I wish they would hurry up and get back into it as my eggs are getting low.
So now thats about all I have been up to.
This weekend Im of to the flower show in Melbourne hopefully that inspires me to do something in my garden
Oh and here is a cute bunny picture for the day. Because my parsley is green and not looking tragic like everything else.

Home grown tomatoes

There is just nothing like a home grown tomato , I have out done myself this year with the taste of the full flavored tomatoes that are just starting to ripen. I must say they are extremely late this year, I have had many tiny Toms but my larger tomatoes are just ripening now.
I really need to be more organized in the garden as I have a very bad habit of planting different types of veges then I forget which ones they are when they grow.
Now Im kicking myself as these tomatoes that I have just picked are bursting with flavor and are extremely juicy.
I have gave my father { who is a big critic when it comes to food} the taste test and he just couldnt believe it he said he had never tasted a tomato so tasty. GRRRRRRRRRR I really would love to know what sort they are now. Im saving the seeds so I can give them a go again next year.

There is nothing like hot toast, butter, and fresh tomato and salt and pepper.

Simply the best

A day at the beach

After a hectic couple of weeks coping with some stressful situations I was determined to re charge my batteries this weekend , rain hail or shine we were going to spend the day at the beach.
What a perfect day to go when it isn't to hot but still nice enough to swim.
I didn't take my phone or camera but Indy had her iPad so these photos are care of Indy.

At times there was rain but swimming in the rain is fun. Also we had a beach shelter oh how I love this to kick back an relax . Tyler didn't get out of the water only for food then he was straight back in. Indy and I looked through the rock pools as she loves taking photos.
A great day had by all.
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend

Opp shop Tuesday

Back into the swing of things and getting my opp shop on. Today I found quite a few garments for ebay and just two vintage items for myself.
I love vintage tablecloths especially linen. This one is so pretty. I have a friend who hates them as soon as she comes over she walks in the door and comments what horrid Nana cloth have you got on the table today lol.

Also this quaint little vintage bird cage, I love bird cages. Of course its not for a bird but I plan on making a little garden feature with it. Maybe a shall put a fake bird in there.

Sunday garden images

Sunday I did a little tidy up and moved my potting area so I can keep an eye on it more, just outside my kitchen window.
Finally I have a new dahlia color. I couldnt even wait for it to be in full bloom before taking a photo.
I know I have posted these roses before but the colors never cease to amaze me just how beautiful nature is.
This is on the same bush but it is a lighter shade

This is the bed I pulled all the potatoes from now you can barely see but it has silverbeet and kale seedlings

Storing zucchini

Jeepers I have a glut of zucchini, I have made so many things from zucchini lately and given a couple away.
I know I will be sad when its all used and mid winter I may want to buy a zucchini so I have decided to grate it and place 1 cup lots in the freezer for when Im going to need zucchini and its not growing free in my garden.
I hate to waste anything.
All the zucchini peel has gone to the chooks and worms and eventually will end up as lovely mulch on my garden.
Im starting to think I really should invest in another freezer as between berries , garlic, zucchini and all the rest of the stuff in there. Im running out of room. I also have a glut of potatoes and thinking maybe I may blanch some and freeze Ive never done this before so not sure how that will turn out.
After grating a heap of zucchini I still had these left and then again tonight I just picked 5 more aaaaagh.
I might have to do a bit more grating tommorow.
